Ladys and Gentlemen, please welcome Miss Pinkky!

I made this for a friend who loves Daniel's strew sock sewing as much as I do.
Look at my little pinkky! I used socks for new borns. It would be easier if I used a larger sock. The feet, the ears are hard to make and adjust. It is not perfect, but I love it a lot!
Hello! I'm pinkky!

-Be Careful! Timmy! Don't step onto my eyes!
-Hey Pinkky, I am a little scared up here!
-Hang on! You will be okay!

A christmas tree and my needle case

I received my felt materials in my pacakge, and jumped right in!
1
I first made this Christmas tree. It is about 4.5 inch tall and stands lovely on my table. I always want a christmas tree. The light will shine at night, and when I wake up the next day, I will find my dream gift right under it. Ha, well. It is a little bit too early for the big tree, so I start with this small one. Same sweetness:)

Since I moved from Indiana to Washington, I loved the Fall. All the leaves changing color I don't see anywhere else. Bright red, golden yellow, smooth orange, lovely pink, yes, seriouly, pink! I think this will be the most dangerous season for me to drive, coz I am always attracted to a tree on the other side of the road!
So i made this lovely maple tree needle holder. I need one case for my needles for so long, and this works perfect. I like to thread my needle with different color thread, so I don't need to rethread every time when I need another color. After I am done with my work, I just wrap the tread around. Clean and neat. NO mess and no accident!

Another paper good

While waiting eagerly for my felt and findings to arrive any time soon, I made a couple paper frames today.

They are not hard to make ( if you didn't count the frustration of the illustrations about how to fold or unfold) and now you can frame your favoriate pictures, or a little piece of drawing. They could be transferred to lovely wall deco. I practiced first with magazine tear off pages and made these two with craft papers. With a little double sided tape, now they are hanging over my desk! You can also make any stand for it, so it could stand on the table too. I just don't have any room on the desk.

Ha, this is my little drawing of a little boy and his pet from "one leg planet".: )
Another one is a photo I took when I was only 3 feet away from this big guy@ yellowstone!

the paper is 12/11 inch squares, and the picture space is a about 4 1/4 inch square.

If you want to know how to make these frames, let me know, and I will post the tutorial for you!

Jewelry board

Finally I have all my necklaces organized in a pleasant way.

I LOVE necklaces and rings, but hate to find them tangled together and won't seperate! I have been looking for jewelry hangers for quite a while. There are couple reasons that I don't like about the ones I found on market: 1. most of them stand on the table which take up a lot space on counter. 2 they can only hang less than ten if you want keep them seperated. 3. most of them have fixed height, so "sorry about the long necklace!", they are going to hale lying on the table surface. 4. the one i do like are expensive. I am not going to spend that money on a hanger which I can spend on another necklace! So I decided to design my own.

My have a couple versions, and the last one is made from a piece of scrap paper. I used hole punches to create little notches along the top of the paper, so each necklace can has its own place. They worked very well with light necklace, especially the ones with just a pendant on plain chain. Unfortunately, this version doesn't work very well with the heavy and bulky necklaces, and the paper hanger will collapse eventually.

After one of them was collapsed, I was inspired by the message board. Why not just used a message board as a jewerly hanger/display, so you can look at them and get them down easily? I have a piece of plain cork board on hand, so here I go!

As a matter of fact, you can just use the plain cork board and a few pins to make it work. I covered mine with the fabric (which is part of my worn tshirt), and add the hanger to the back. So they look pretty and can be hanged as a show piece! I like it very much and this takes good care of my heavy necklaces. Another good thing about this version is that most part of the necklace are protected from rubbing on the wall! (or my wall is protected? ha~)
