fabric covered box

Getting organized is one of my daily goal.  This is a reason that I always like boxes, especially those fabric covered ones. When my husband said that he needs a couple boxes for storage, I went straight to my saved box collections and found a right sized box to start with. So here we go:

The fabric is the medium thick home deco fabric. One end of the strip was pressed to make a clean hem. I also pressed the fabric to the size of each panel to make wrap easier. I left about 1 in on both side, so it could be wrapped to the bottom and the inside.

I used mod podge which is very effective. I brushed the glue on one side, pressed it to the box, Then brushed more glue on the next panel, and pressed on the next panel. It is pretty fast before the last panel with hem was glued on.

The bottom is covered with a pressed fabric square.

Tada~~

I also made 3 large storage box by sewing a cover. You can take the fabric cover out to wash and clean.  Compare sewed cover with glued fabric, they both have their merits. I personally thing that glue is better for small box, and fabric cover is better for large storage box. They all do good jobs in my home :)
